The Global Counsel Forum began life as the Black Counsel Forum a conference founded by solicitor Sharon Thomas with a single conviction: that lawyers who had navigated this profession on harder terms deserved a space of their own. What started as a gathering built on shared experience grew into something larger than any single conference could contain. A community. A network. A reputation. A movement.
The name changed. The mission didn’t. GCF carries forward everything the BCF built the candour, the ambition, the refusal to settle for a seat at someone else’s table and extends it to every lawyer who has ever felt that the mainstream legal world wasn’t quite designed with them in mind. The Superpower Summit is the annual expression of that. The old website is still there, a record of where this all began.
